RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated health system in New Jersey, is seeking a highly skilled Physician Advisor to join our team at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville.
This is an exciting opportunity for a board-certified physician to form a collaborative partnership with local and corporate administration, the medical staff, and the case management department leadership. As a Physician Advisor, you will provide a comprehensive clinical resource management program that includes utilization management, progression of care management, social work services, and complex discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a standardized practice for Physician Advisor Services, focusing on throughput, length of stay, observation hours, and next site of care planning.
- Participate in reviewing and developing medical guidelines and policies to enhance quality and efficiency of care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to lead rounds and ensure effective care coordination.
Requirements:
- Board certification and valid New Jersey medical license.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical practice experience.
- Previous utilization management experience in an acute care setting.
- Prior leadership experience required.
- CHCQM certification.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations and nationally accepted guidelines such as MCG and InterQual.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and set priorities.
