Overview
Baylor College of Medicine is in search of a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient care team at the BSLMG location. The PA will play a crucial role in enhancing patient care through both independent and collaborative clinical management of designated populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical assessments.
- Execute, order, and analyze diagnostic tests in alignment with the patient's health concerns.
- Prescribe suitable pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records, including orders and progress notes regarding treatments and procedures.
- Ensure the precision of entries in patient medical records.
- Deliver ongoing health maintenance care to patients following protocols established with the supervising physician.
- Engage in communication with physicians, patients, and their families regarding patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and practice staff to identify suitable patients for care management.
- Perform additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies. A Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies may be accepted based on terminal degree requirements at the time of graduation.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant medical experience.
- Certifications: Current Physician Assistant license from the State of Texas Physician Assistant Board. Specialty certification as mandated by the department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
