Head Cashier

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head Cashier to join our team at Natural Grocers. As a key member of our front-end team, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless customer experience, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency in all cash handling and sales transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide World Class Customer Service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority.
- Exemplify integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhere to all policies.
- Train and direct cashiers to ensure they are knowledgeable about products, services, and company policies.
- Complete daily sales reports and cashier closeout responsibilities.
- Issue and verify cash drawers, handle returns and overrides, and address customer complaints.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-end area, including registers, cash drawers, and surrounding areas.
- Oversee completion of front-end tasks, including cart checks, and ensure that all registers are fully stocked and well-maintained.
- Direct cashiers to tasks during slow periods and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Perform general cashiering and checkout duties, including running cash registers, bagging and boxing groceries, and providing carry-out service.
- Monitor and maintain all registers, including cash drawers, and ensure that all transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
- Participate in special orders, including managing inventory and ensuring timely delivery.
- Assist in managing the front-end area, including maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring that all equipment and supplies are in good working order.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in retail, preferably in a grocery or retail environment, with a natural foods background a plus.
- 1 year of cashiering experience preferred, with supervisory experience a plus.
- Ability to pass food safety training courses and maintain compliance.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on providing a positive customer experience.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail, and ability to manage changing priorities.
- Ability to take direction and follow through on tasks and responsibilities.
- Must be cashier trained and able to count currency.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
