Job Summary

As a skilled Machine Operator at Syntec Optics, you will work from given instructions to run various manual and CNC lathe/mill machines. Your primary responsibility will be to manufacture complex parts with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for producing high-quality parts within tight tolerances.
  • Responsible for controlling product quality during production runs using precision measuring tools.
  • Measure and work with tight tolerance in accordance with control plans and blueprints.
  • Good working knowledge of proper machine operation and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Additional Responsibilities
  • May be required to edit offsets at the machine and/or change tools as needed.
  • May work on special projects and various related assignments when requested.
  • May be required to work in different areas of operations when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands of this role include sitting, talking, and/or hearing, with frequent use of hands to handle or feel objects. The employee must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Familiarity with G and M codes.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be a team player.
