About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Parkland Medical Center. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory test results to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including hematology, clinical chemistry, blood bank, serology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology.
  • Conduct complex analysis of microscopic, immunologic, biologic, bacteriologic, hematologic, and chemical tests and their results.
  • Receive and process specimens, and troubleshoot/resolve instrument problems.
  • Document corrective action and assure quality control is properly performed and logged.
  • Train new employees and/or students, and actively participate in phlebotomy and accession responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Previous Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist experience is preferred.
  • Eye-Hand coordination and finger dexterity needed to operate specific pipetting and other equipment, and to input test result data into computer.
  • Color vision required to identify hue of specimens and when performing chemical color testing.
Education and Certification
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biological, Chemical, and/or Physical Science is required.
  • An ASCP/AMT, equivalent licensure, and/or eligibility is required.
