Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Funeral Director/Embalmer to join our team at Service Corporation International. As a Funeral Director/Embalmer, you will be responsible for celebrating lives and providing compassionate funeral services to families in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrangements Conference
    • Meet with families to discuss funeral arrangements and provide guidance on available services and merchandise.
    • Assess the needs of each family and provide personalized recommendations.
    • Coordinate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
  • Directing Services
    • Preside over visitation, funeral, and graveside services, ensuring a professional and organized experience for families and guests.
    • Verify the accuracy of services and merchandise contracts.
    • Interact with families and guests to fulfill their death care requests.
  • Event Planning
    • Plan and coordinate funeral events, including resource planning and ordering of music, flowers, and catering.
    • Produce memorial products, such as obituaries and online memorials.
    • Prepare event rooms and ensure a clean and safe environment for families and guests.
  • Embalming
    • Care for deceased individuals in a respectful manner, adhering to company processes and procedures.
    • Verify identification and review embalming authorization.
    • Clean and embalm bodies, using scalpels, pumps, tubes, and equipment to replace bodily fluids/waste with embalming fluids.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
  • Current Funeral Director and Embalmer dual license within the practicing state.
  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry experience.
