We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Staff Pharmacist to join our team at West Chester Hospital. As a key member of our Inpatient Pharmacy Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medication therapies to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician request, adhering to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Interpret medication orders and transcribe to computerized patient medication profiles accurately, maintaining accurate and complete medication profiles.
- Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients, adhering to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Contribute to the quality and effective operation of the department, maintaining competence required for current job title/position.
- Meet hospital and department standards of performance, maintaining competence required for current job title/position.
- Assist with pharmacokinetics consult service and drug dosing per organizational protocol.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required; PharmD preferred degree.
- Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Ohio; ACLS preferred.
- Greater than or equal to a six-month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist is preferred; preference will be given to completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency program (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff, handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent requests, exercise sound professional judgment, communicate effectively (orally and in writing), and meet the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by UC Health.
