We are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team at Harmons Grocery. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for maintaining quality standards and product levels of all cake products.

• Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Ensure the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
• Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the bakery
• Confirm pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
• Ensure the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
• Deliver excellent customer service to all customers
• Follow production sheets to ensure appropriate inventory levels of Harmons cakes
• Mix, bake, assemble, and decorate cakes for sale and to keep as back-stock quickly and efficiently
• Decorate cakes for sale and for custom orders
• Make frosting to be used for cake decorating
• Communicate openly and frequently with Store Director, Bakery Manager, and Bakery Sales Director

• A high school diploma or GED preferred; 1 year of pastry and/or cake decorating experience preferred
• Current Food Handlers Permit
• Ability to read and follow a recipe
• Basic math skills used to half or double recipes
• Knowledge of baking, setting, and assembling procedures and times for pastries
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures
• Excellent organization and planning skills
• Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with customers and fellow associates
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
