Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in coordinating and delivering respiratory care services to patients. This includes performing diagnostic tests, administering respiratory therapies, and monitoring patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. As a key member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist ensures that patients receive evidence-based care and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers as necessary.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • State registration as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Bachelor's degree or vocational school graduate with experience in respiratory therapy.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

This position is located at HCA Florida JFK Hospital, which is situated in Atlantis, Florida. We are close to the coastal cities of Lake Worth and Boynton Beach, offering easy access to beaches, restaurants, and shopping centers.
