Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and food service to meet the needs of our customers and patients. As a Food Service Worker, you will be an integral part of our Nutrition Services team, ensuring that our patients receive prompt, accurate, and polite service aligned with our department and University Hospitals standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily food service related duties necessary to meet customer/patient feeding deadlines.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and sanitary work area, including mopping, sweeping, and dishwashing.
  • Use department equipment in a safe, efficient, and confident manner.
  • Follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including proper food safety procedures.
  • Stay current with training requirements and safety in-services.
  • Serve internal and external customer needs promptly, accurately, and politely, utilizing department and University Hospitals service standards.
  • Ability to work in advanced skill areas such as diet office and/or cashier.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, cover multiple workstations and/or assignments.
  • Has ability to train other employees.
Requirements
  • High School Equivalent / GED Preferred
  • Successful completion of Customer Service training Preferred
  • 2+ years Food service experience Preferred
  • 2+ years Experience working with customers Preferred
  • Previous cash handling Preferred
