Job Description

Tal Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at our Federally Qualified Health Center. As a Physician Assistant, you will provide medical care and promote health to patients, performing administrative duties related to providing care.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Provides medical care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients, taking relevant patient history, identifying patient needs, and making diagnoses. Develops and implements treatment plans using diagnostic data, performs complete well-care examinations, and writes prescriptions. Completes medical forms and documentation related to patient care, makes and tracks referrals to other agencies and providers, and assists with immunizations and phlebotomy as needed.

Works collaboratively with physicians and specialists for consultation and referral purposes, meets with designated supervising physicians on a regular basis, and participates in Peer Review process. Encourages health promotion, disease prevention, and health maintenance.

Administrative:

Observes, implements, and promotes federal regulations as defined by HIPAA and Policies and Procedures as defined by the organization. Acts as on-site supervisor of medical assistants at satellite sites, teaches medical assistants about patient care and triage, and communicates with Clinic Flow Manager regarding status of flow at clinic site.

Requirements:

Unrestricted New York State Physician Assistant license, 2+ years' clinical experience preferable, or new grads with experience working with PEDS population. Familiarity with word processing and other computer applications, and ability to speak Spanish and/or other languages preferable.
