We are seeking a skilled Locksmith Journeyman to join our team at Utah State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing journeyman-level locksmith services, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic access control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electronic access control systems, including locks, keys, and proximity cards.
- Perform administrative functions, including record-keeping and access control management.
- Provide technical guidance to less senior technicians and ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with the supervisor and university police to coordinate key requests and ensure accurate and current information.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of current and related work experience in locksmithing and access control.
- Current and directly related experience in locksmithing.
- Commercial/Institutional electronics experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of electronic principles and theory, as well as electronic circuits and components.
- Ability to read electronic schematics and wiring diagrams to perform testing and troubleshooting of circuits.
- Basic computer skills and records maintenance skills.
- Customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
