Locksmith Journeyman

We are seeking a skilled Locksmith Journeyman to join our team at Utah State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing journeyman-level locksmith services, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic access control systems.

• Install, maintain, and repair electronic access control systems, including locks, keys, and proximity cards.
  
• Perform administrative functions, including record-keeping and access control management.
  
• Provide technical guidance to less senior technicians and ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  
• Collaborate with the supervisor and university police to coordinate key requests and ensure accurate and current information.
  

• Minimum of 4 years of current and related work experience in locksmithing and access control.
  
• Current and directly related experience in locksmithing.
  
• Commercial/Institutional electronics experience is preferred.
  

• Knowledge of electronic principles and theory, as well as electronic circuits and components.
  
• Ability to read electronic schematics and wiring diagrams to perform testing and troubleshooting of circuits.
  
• Basic computer skills and records maintenance skills.
  
• Customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
