Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with diesel equipment, including engines, transmissions, and brakes.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability to ensure accurate records and compliance with company standards.
- Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed to minimize downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to workplace safety rules and regulations, and government guidelines.
- Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping to ensure efficient parts management and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with other maintenance shop personnel to ensure seamless operations and provide backup support as needed.
- Develop and maintain expertise in diesel equipment repair and maintenance, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs, ensuring timely and effective maintenance.
- CDL A and DOT certification preferred, but not required.
