Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Clarion Hospital. As a Licensed Practical Nurse - Patient Care Specialist, you will provide direct patient care, meeting both psychological and physical needs of patients in accordance with physicians' orders, AOA, OSHA, nursing and department policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assist in the implementation of the patient's treatment plan.
- Communicate with RN and report any changes, to medical orders, radiological results, laboratory results, or patient status.
- Adhere to facilities policy and procedures.
- Participate in hospital-wide performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Participate in nursing and hospital committees as appropriate.
- Attend at least 70% of department staff meetings.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills, and professional behavior when dealing with all individuals and groups, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate respect and positive communication skills when interacting with all individuals and groups, both internally and externally.
- Function as a patient advocate through collaboration and communication of patient needs.
- Utilize manual and automated information systems to improve patient safety.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a State Board-approved program of practical nursing.
- Holds a current Pennsylvania state license as licensed practical nurse.
- Certified in basic CPR.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Charge Nurse / Resource Nurse / Clinical Coordinator / Nurse Manager.
Supervises:
Nursing Assistant.
