Job Summary

Mary's Center is seeking a Per Diem Pediatrician to join our team. As a Per Diem Pediatrician, you will provide quality primary wellness and sick care to our pediatric patients in an efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality primary wellness and sick care to pediatric patients
  • Practice medicine at any Mary's Center location as directed by Medical Leadership
  • Practice medicine within quality standards such as HEIDIS
  • Coordinate sub-specialty care with nursing and social work staff
  • Provide consultation and education to patients and/or parents and staff to increase quality of patient care
  • Collaborate with Mary's Center and external healthcare providers as necessary to make appropriate medical decisions
  • Coordinate transferring of patients to emergency facility and arrange for hospitalization as needed
  • Provide guidance and assistance to medical assistants
Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O. degree and current license to practice Medicine in the District of Columbia and Maryland
  • CDS and DEA authorization in DC and Maryland
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics preferred
  • A minimum of two (2) years of practicing pediatrics medicine in a community health clinic environment and/or experience in working with immigrant or economically disadvantaged populations in a maternal/child healthcare setting highly desirable
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of patient confidentiality issues and HIPAA compliance/regulations
Language Requirement

Ability to communicate effectively in English is required. Additional language proficiency or fluency in Spanish preferred.

Work Environment

Mostly in a typical clinical office setting with quiet to moderate noise level; a percentage of clinical care may be provided remotely depending on scheduling needs.
