QUALIFICATIONS:

  2. Capable of operating all kitchen machinery.

  5. Basic computer skills preferred.
REPORTS TO: Head Cook and Food Service Director

SUPERVISES: None.

POSITION GOAL: To prepare and deliver nutritious meals that are both appealing and satisfying. To foster a welcoming environment in the cafeteria and educate students on healthy eating habits.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in the preparation and serving of daily breakfast and lunch.
2. Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, mixers, ovens, and other necessary tools.
3. Adhere to safety and sanitation protocols, including wearing hairnets and disposable gloves.
4. Help clean and store utensils, dishes, trays, pans, and other kitchen tools.
5. Operate a cash register, process transactions, and provide change when necessary.
6. Maintain a strong focus on safety and consistently practice safety measures.
7. Understand the fundamentals of USDA Food Service Regulations.
8. Assist with the unloading of food deliveries and ensure proper food storage.
9. Build positive working relationships with colleagues.
10. Stock and replenish quick-serve food items as needed.
11. Arrange cafeteria tables as required.
12. Dispose of waste daily.
13. May assist with laundry duties.
14. Collaborate with educators to promote nutrition awareness among students.
15. Work closely with the Head Cook and Food Service Director as required.
16. Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
17. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing lunch tables after each service.
18. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Cook/Food Service Director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year determined by the Board of Education. Compensation and benefits as per the negotiated agreement.

EVALUATION: An annual review will be conducted by the Food Service Director, following the Clarke Community School District board policy.
