Maintenance Team Leader Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join our team at Whirlwind Steel Buildings, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the proper development of team members, and providing training and support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of production and facility equipment.
  • Develop and implement work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Planner to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Delegate assignments based on team members' skills and experience, and ensure that maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Inspect work performed by team members, track and log worker time, and maintain inventory records.
  • Identify issues and determine repairs needed, and perform all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or GM of Maintenance.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred; vocational school or technical certifications strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to make decisions and recommendations.
  • Supervisory skills and strong leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS or related software.
  • Collaborative management style, with a proven track record of working with diverse individuals at all levels to drive decision-making and results.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds is sometimes required.
  • Must possess mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work areas.

Work Schedule:

  • Second Shift: 3:30pm - 1:00am, Monday - Friday.
  • Saturday and Sunday as needed.
  • Limited overtime available.
