Job Description:

  • The client seeks a Security Operations Specialist to report directly to the Manager of Cloud Security.
  • As part of the Cloud Security Team, you will have the chance to innovate security architectures that support significant business initiatives.
  • Utilizing your expertise, you will collaborate with various teams to design enterprise architectures, develop and refine policies to ensure timely and precise alerts are generated and addressed, while tackling new challenges to safeguard the organization’s most critical assets.
  • Successful candidates will exhibit strong business insight and possess a blend of business, technology, and security skills.
  • This role requires a versatile background, critical thinking, analytical skills, and a proven ability to navigate organizational boundaries to implement security measures and risk mitigation strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute daily tasks related to the company’s CNAPP and CWP solutions.
  • Assess, communicate, and resolve vulnerabilities and misconfigurations while refining policies to maintain high alert accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cloud account, engineering, and development teams to review, manage, and monitor security vulnerabilities and remediation efforts.
  • Establish key performance indicators to track the progress and effectiveness of the DevSecOps program.
  • Assist in triaging potential security incidents.
  • Support cybersecurity escalations and change management processes.
  • Create runbooks and document policies and procedures.
  • Promote security and privacy by design through effective collaboration with security, cloud account, and engineering teams.
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a related field or a BS/BA with 3+ years of professional service experience, or an MS with 1 year of related experience.
  • Proven experience in cloud and container security (AWS, Azure, Anthos, and Kubernetes experience is highly desired).
  • Experience with enterprise CNAPP and/or CWP tools (Palo Alto Prisma preferred).
  • Familiarity with cloud concepts and network architectures.
  • Understanding of application architecture, including security best practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex issues, including root causes, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to effectively build consensus among cross-functional teams regarding key security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement leading security processes across cross-functional teams throughout Technology and the Business.
  • Engage others in creating innovative solutions to strategic and operational challenges.
  • Ability to succinctly summarize problems and tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Drive the completion of projects and assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS/MA in a related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering); and/or 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Capability to automate or script repetitive tasks.
  • Experience in a big four consulting firm or a Fortune 500 company.
  • Background in the Telecom/Cable industry.
  • At least one relevant industry certification – CISSP, CISM, CISA.
  • Cloud Provider certifications – Azure, GCP, AWS.
