Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in Chantilly, VA. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, implementing, and maintaining telecommunications capabilities, including wide area and local area networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs, configures, tests, implements, and maintains telecommunications capabilities, including wide area and local area networks.
  • Performs operations and support activities.
  • Assists applications programmers working in the telecommunications environment.
  • Evaluates network changes for operational impact.
  • Evaluates network performance and resolves network and processor problems.
  • Familiar with hardware and software diagnostic tools.
  • Primary escalation point technology issues that are unable to be resolved by Tier-1 and Tier-2 support staff.
  • Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of supported services.
  • Provide training to Tier-1 and Tier-2 Support Technicians.
  • Perform daily shift-driven tasks assigned by the Technology Lead.
  • Troubleshooting and configuration of customer issues.
  • Database administration and development.
  • Performing server repairs.
  • Problem solving involving network and infrastructure.
  • Maintaining Cloud centric updates.
  • Developing and deploying customer approved solutions to new problems.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • All the qualifications of Tier 1 and 2.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Knowledge in networking: standard internet protocols and ports, network monitoring and analysis tools, configuration of network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
  • Knowledge of Linux: system and network configuration, software installation, troubleshooting, bash scripting, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows: system and network configuration, registry, software installation, troubleshooting, scripting, Active Directory, etc.
  • Good understanding of: DNS, Web proxies, Email servers, mail protocols, Web categorization, Web protocols, Anti-Spam and Anti-Malware solutions.
  • High motivation for innovation and ability to explore and drive new ideas and technologies, think and learn independently.
  • 3+ years of experience in tech support.
  • Experience with virtualization infrastructure, private and public: VMWare, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, or Rackspace - advantage.
  • Programming or scripting experience – advantage.
  • Associate's degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
