Job Description:
The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic/Technician travels to job sites to perform skilled tasks in the repair of all fleet vehicles, machinery, motors, tools and equipment used by the company. This role involves performing preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks, diagnosing hydraulic systems, fabricating and installing special equipment or replacement parts, and troubleshooting machine systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent decision making skills, experience working on heavy equipment, and proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing routine maintenance checks and adjustments on vehicles and motor-driven equipment.
  • Changing filters, oil, and lubricating vehicles and equipment.
  • Fabricating, modifying, and installing special equipment or replacement parts using mills, lathes, welders, torch sets, plasma cutters, and metal cutting saws.
  • Detecting and repairing faults in hydraulics, power trains, and engines.
  • Proficiently replacing components such as transmissions, engines, differentials, torque converters, and final drives.


Salary:
$65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of experience working on heavy equipment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent decision making skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Scanner diagnostics (OTC vehicle/CAT ET) a plus.
  • Must be fluent in English, i.e., must be able to speak, read, and write English.
