Aircraft Painter Job Description

As an Aircraft Painter at Amentum, you will play a critical role in preparing aircraft and ground support equipment for painting, ensuring a high-quality finish and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough washing and inspection of aircraft and ground support equipment to prepare for painting.
  • Apply chemical treatments to metal surfaces to prevent corrosion.
  • Operate and maintain assigned paint applicators and personal safety equipment.
  • Collaborate with customers, OEMs, and management to resolve painting-related issues.
  • Estimate and assess damage to painted surfaces, including man-hours and materials.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to employees as needed.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft corrosion control and painting.
  • U.S. Navy Aircraft Paint, Finish and Insignia school or equivalent training.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet government/company licensing requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high noise levels and extreme temperature changes.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in aircraft maintenance shops, hangars, and flight lines.
  • May require travel for cross-country rescue and detachments.
