Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team at STA, LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, professional, and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with other STA, LLC employees to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
  • Follow all relevant safety rules and regulations, including those set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
  • Perform PLC/DCS troubleshooting and programming, as well as install instrumentation and configure control systems.
  • Read and understand mechanical, electrical, chemical, and controls system drawings.
  • Respond quickly to critical situations, assess system components, and implement corrective actions to mitigate system upsets.
  • Review maintenance procedures to ensure best practices are in place and documented properly.
  • Provide technical support for our 24-hour operations team.

Requirements

  • Oral and written English language proficiency.
  • Good communication skills.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in PLC, VFD, and HMI programming and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and component installation.
  • MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting.
  • Understanding of instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and chemical systems and their interface with system controls and instrumentation.
  • Basic understanding of Ethernet and networking.

Work Environment

The work environment is often loud and hot.
