As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in critical situations. This role requires a compassionate approach and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Schedule: Night shifts; 3 shifts of 12 hours; 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

The Emergency Department at Ascension St. Vincent's East is a 37-bed facility providing round-the-clock emergency medical services. ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse will:
- Deliver direct nursing care in alignment with established policies and protocols.
- Develop and oversee patient care plans, monitoring and documenting patient conditions as necessary.
- Act as the primary coordinator for interdisciplinary patient care.
- Execute physician and nursing orders accurately.
- Assess and facilitate discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Licensure and Certification:
- Must possess a Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to the start date.
- One or more of the following certifications are required:
- Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
- BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
Education:
- A diploma from an accredited nursing school or professional licensure at the time of hire is required.
There are no additional preferences for this position.
