Job Summary

A skilled Weld Engineer is needed to join the PEGASUS STEEL GROUP team. As a Weld Engineer, you will be responsible for developing weld procedure specifications, managing welding projects, supervising welding teams, and planning and preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, submit, and manage WPS(s) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Assign approved WPS(s) to new jobs to ensure efficient and safe welding processes.
  • Lead welding projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Analyze engineering designs for welding requirements to ensure accurate and efficient implementation.
  • Review welding procedures, processes, and documentation to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in managing welding procedure qualifications and generating welding procedures to support the manufacturing and welding teams.
  • Conduct failure analyses and cause analyses on welding issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or at least 5 years of work experience in Quality Assurance, fabrication, or non-destructive testing with a demonstrated track-record of accomplishments as a Weld Engineer.
  • Experience with ISO9001 Quality System rules, regulations, including planning and implementation, and NAVSEA and ASME experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities.
  • Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment.
  • PC-based computing experience, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, documentation software, and statistical software.
  • Experience with performing Internal Audits and Document Control.
  • General knowledge of associated machinery and processing, and broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation.
