Job Summary

As a Facilities Maintenance Manager at TDIndustries, you will oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of assigned facilities and related systems. This includes HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. You will plan and oversee the delivery of service to customers, ensuring that all shifts are covered and operational duties are performed to meet contract compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, coach, and develop direct reports to achieve performance goals and company objectives.
  • Monitor the performance of assigned area staff, including permanent subcontractors.
  • Maintain discipline of assigned staff according to company policy.
  • Conduct timely, complete, and meaningful performance management conversations.
  • Serve as a leader and primary technical resource in area of expertise, acting as the point of contact for customers on site.
  • Plan and oversee the delivery of service to customers, both with actual hands-on work and as a trainer for direct reports, client staff, and other contractors.
  • Respond to facility service work orders from building occupants.
  • Monitor, check, and evaluate the completion of major repairs and in-depth planned maintenance.
  • Ensure all shifts are covered and perform operational duties as required to meet contract compliance.
  • Respond to emergency calls, working with police, fire, and emergency service crews to protect company property and employees.
  • Keep records of safety, health, and environmental issues each working day.
  • Ensure the work crew follows all company and customer safety practices and fully utilizes assigned Personal Protective Equipment each work day.
  • Report and investigate near misses and incident/accidents on the project site.
  • Perform a monthly quality and safety walk-through of the entire site with a customer direct report or as needed.
  • Work with the designated Site Safety Technician to initiate safety topics and ensure bi-weekly safety meetings are conducted and that the required attendance sheets are completed and on file.
  • Perform a minimum of two safety observations a month.
  • Read and provide interpretations to all compliance requirements, blueprints, schematics, O&M manuals, and specifications to ensure standardization of work.
  • Act on opportunities for improving customer systems.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of Facility/Building Management experience.
  • High School or GED is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as Facilities Manager or relevant position.
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Good analytical/critical thinking.
