Job Description

HCC, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Automation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automated systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Setup: Install, configure, and commission automated systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, robotics, and other control systems.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance on automation equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated systems promptly.
  • System Optimization: Monitor and analyze system performance. Implement improvements and modifications to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs. Create and update technical documentation and user manuals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and other technicians to design, test, and implement new automation solutions. Provide technical support and training to other staff members as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all automated systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate's degree or higher in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PLC programming, robotics) are a plus.
  • Preferred Experience: Familiarity with PLC programming, SCADA systems, robotics, and other automation technologies. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics. Experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds. Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas. Willingness to work irregular hours, including on-call shifts, if necessary.
