Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach a 3000-level seminar course in Comics Studies at the Columbus College of Art and Design. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in English and previous teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a 3000-level seminar course in Comics Studies, immersing students in the critical reading of primarily long-form or book-length comics.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that analyzes diverse comics texts in conversation and in writing, articulating and applying literary critical frameworks.
  • Encourage students to identify relevant topics and themes in the field of comics, developing their cultural literacy in respect to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Assess student learning through written assignments and class discussions.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in English or a related field.
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of comics studies and literary critical frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
