Job SummaryThe Accounts Payable and Receivable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Jewelers Mutual Group, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the billing and accounts receivable function, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and complete system testing for system changes and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Provide customer service support for billing-related inquiries, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Lead the collection process with the Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT), ensuring prompt and accurate payment processing.
- Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing, and reconciliations.
- Monitor daily accounts payable and outgoing cash transactions activity, including claims payments, premium refunds, commissions, and vendor payments.
- Communicate with vendors and internal company personnel to resolve accounts payable issues.
- Process payments and post to correct general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee the accounts payable month-end close and related reconciliation processes.
- Review and process payments according to company guidelines, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Supervise the activities of the accounts receivable and payable staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Serve as primary backup for all day-to-day banking processes.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives related to accounts payable and billing.
- Manage all processes related to Concur Invoice, the company's invoice management system.
- Assist with various audit requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in department projects, contributing to the development of business processes and procedures.
Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including:
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
- Planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Appraising performance.
- Rewarding and disciplining employees.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
- Property/casualty insurance background and jewelry industry experience are helpful.
