The Industrial Engineer is instrumental in developing, managing, and implementing engineering strategies that focus on improving operational performance, reducing waste and delays, and achieving cost savings across the organization.

Responsibilities include conducting time studies and utilizing standard data for various operations, including machine, assembly, and manual processes, as well as optimizing production techniques, equipment layout, material handling, and resource utilization to enhance operational effectiveness.

This role collaborates with Engineering Cost Estimators by supplying data from current projects or validating assumptions for new initiatives, assisting in the formulation of cost estimates related to assembly processes, spatial requirements, material handling, and labor costs.

Engages with Procurement to evaluate new suppliers for materials and technologies that support the company's competitive edge in the market.

Manages all engineering-related communications both internally and with clients, which includes technical presentations, design assessments, capacity evaluations, and feasibility analyses.

Accountable for initial facility planning (Pre-SOP), which encompasses Plant Floor Layout, Material Flow Analysis, and Inventory Optimization.

Conducts Broadcast Analysis, Throughput Analysis, and/or Simulation using tools such as ProModel, with an emphasis on understanding facility operations and fulfilling customer delivery requirements.

Collaborates with Packaging Engineers to influence the design process, focusing on optimization to enhance labor efficiency, ergonomics, plant layout, and freight management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned engineering projects.
  • Develop and oversee capital investment budgets for various initiatives.
  • Create Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Equipment Specifications as necessary.
  • Promote lean methodologies (5S, Kanban, Visual Factory, TPM, etc.) throughout the organization.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance overall efficiency, including automation solutions.
  • Benchmark industry processes and equipment, integrating best practices into company standards.
  • Address issues and provide crisis management support as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 4 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • 4 years of experience in Freight Optimization, Packaging Solutions, and Automotive Component Systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, various CAD viewers, and AutoCAD.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support engineering changes or production activities.
