Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair circuits and wiring to ensure secure communication channels
  • Calibrate and align equipment components to optimize performance
  • String overhead cables between utility poles to establish secure communication networks
  • Perform equipment tests and preventive maintenance checks to ensure system reliability
  • Train and supervise other Soldiers to develop their skills and expertise
Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of communication security policy and procedure
  • Ability to learn and apply mechanical, electronic, and electrical principles
What You'll Learn

Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to excel in a civilian career in radio repair, radio mechanics, teletype repair, or station installation. You will learn mechanical, electronic, and electrical principles, preventive maintenance procedures, and communication security policies and procedures.

Earn While You Learn

In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. After 10 weeks of Basic Training, you will attend Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for 16 weeks of classroom instruction, including practice with equipment.
