Job Overview

As a Health Information Technician at Big Sandy Health Care, Inc., you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure seamless communication between healthcare professionals and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process incoming digital faxes, categorizing and assigning them to relevant patient records.
  2. Coordinate with nursing and provider teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of patient information.
  3. Track and manage referrals, facilitating smooth transitions between healthcare services.
  4. Develop and maintain proficiency in healthcare software applications and systems.
  5. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years' experience in health information management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and related software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in health information management or a related field preferred.

Compensation Package:This role offers an estimated salary range of $60,000 - $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
