Job Summary
The Forklift Technician is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of our customers' forklifts and other material handling equipment. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts and other material handling equipment, including inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Conduct safety inspections and address any safety concerns to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used, time spent, and any safety inspections conducted.
- Work closely with customers and operations teams to understand equipment needs and prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and maintain operational flow.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology, tools, and best practices related to forklift maintenance and repair.
RequirementsEssential Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in forklift repair and maintenance or a similar field involving mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in forklifts.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment, work in various positions (standing, kneeling, crouching), and operate forklifts and other equipment safely.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear instructions and updates to customers and management regarding equipment status and repairs.
