About the Job:
The Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. This role requires effective communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates patient care activities, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provides leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring safe and effective patient care
- Develops and implements individualized patient care plans, taking into account patient goals and preferences
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient outcomes
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
- Minimum 1 year of hospital inpatient RN experience, preferably in progressive care or mixed acuity settings
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, titrating vasoactive drips, post-surgical care, post PCI care, and chest tubes
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing; certifications to support a culture of nursing excellence
