Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist-Programmer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and operating Okuma lathe equipment, utilizing Mastercam software or the OSP programming software built into the Okuma controller.
Key Responsibilities- Set up lathe equipment, including tooling and fixturing, to produce tight tolerance parts.
- Operate machinery to produce parts with surface finishes as low as 16 microinches, runouts, perpendicularity, and concentricity as low as 0.0005, and positional tolerances as low as 0.001.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Work independently and in group environments to achieve production goals.
- Troubleshoot machinery as necessary to minimize downtime.
- Program parts in a 2-axis lathe environment and work with other machinists to overcome challenges on the shop floor.
- Responsible for assigning and selecting tooling necessary to complete a given application.
- Inspect parts in process and record results.
- 3-5 years of precision machining experience.
- Ability to produce tight tolerance parts.
- Experience machining exotic metals such as Titanium, Inconel, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel.
- Ability and willingness to set up and program new and existing machinery.
- Ability and willingness to utilize existing resources or prepare a comprehensive list of necessary resources to complete projects on time and within budget.
- 3+ years of experience programming Okuma lathe or similar equipment.
- Ability to utilize programming software, Mastercam or like software.
- Software specific training available as needed.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining/program issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team and results-driven environment.
Compensation for this role is based on experience and demonstrated ability.
Hourly wage: $32-$40
