How You Will Contribute
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will deliver mobile diagnostic echocardiographic assessments for physician evaluation, utilizing state-of-the-art portable echocardiography technology along with your technical expertise. Echocardiographic evaluations may be conducted in diverse environments, including private homes, senior living facilities, rehabilitation centers, specialized clinics, and correctional institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel using a company-provided vehicle to conduct echocardiography assessments for patients across various local service locations.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and protocols while executing echocardiographic evaluations.
- Exhibit proficiency in performing echocardiographic studies in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Conduct echocardiographic evaluations with consideration for the unique physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of each patient.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of cardiac conditions to ensure complete image acquisition for accurate clinical diagnosis by the interpreting cardiologist.
- Practice safe work habits relevant to the role, including reporting safety hazards, employing proper body mechanics, and utilizing personal protective equipment.
- Collect or confirm all necessary order documentation and patient details prior to conducting procedures.
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging examinations.
- Operate portable ultrasonic equipment with cardiac capabilities at the patient's location or designated examination areas.
- Prepare images for review by radiologists or referring physicians.
- Process images and conduct quality control checks for proper identification and clarity.
- Transmit images and all required documentation to the cardiologist promptly, following company protocols.
- Complete all necessary forms and maintain accurate records, logs, and reports of work performed according to standard procedures.
- Upload all required documentation into company systems in compliance with established protocols.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning and disinfecting according to company guidelines.
- Ensure the company vehicle is well-maintained and stocked with essential supplies before each shift.
- Operate in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide orientation and training for new staff and students as requested.
- Assist with order processing, study validation, communication with interpreting cardiologists, patient follow-ups, and other administrative and customer support tasks as directed.
- Maintain professionalism and exhibit courtesy, friendliness, and a positive demeanor when interacting with colleagues, patients, their families, client staff, physicians, and others.
- Perform additional related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- To qualify as a Mobile Echocardiography Technologist, you must fulfill all state-specific and federal requirements for training, education, competency, certification, and licensure, including one or more of the following: Adult Cardiac Sonographer with successful completion of an accredited non-invasive cardiovascular training program, focusing on adult echocardiography and/or vascular ultrasound studies; ARDMS registered in adult echocardiography with RDCS (AE) designation; or CCI registered with Cardiac Sonographer designation.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a cardiac sonographer or vascular technician is preferred.
- Additional Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification is desirable.
- Ability to perform high-quality echocardiogram studies and demonstrate excellent organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize daily tasks effectively.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proficient understanding of departmental procedures and equipment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer skills for data entry tasks.
- Capability to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
