Key Responsibilities
  • Project Assessment: Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents to understand project requirements.
  • Site Visits: Perform site visits to gather relevant information about existing infrastructure, requirements, and potential challenges.
  • Log Project Information: Log project information in our CRM system.
  • Proposal Development: Respond to bid specifications, write detailed scope of work, develop cost estimates, and predict project duration.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor hours, material costs, equipment expenses, and other related expenses.
  • Proposal Submission: Create and submit proposals, including cost breakdowns, technical specs, and supporting documentation.
  • Client Communication: Participate in scope review/leveling meetings with clients and project meetings with clients and the estimating team.
  • Vendor Management: Interact with vendors to secure the best pricing.
  • Project Handoff: Participate in handoff meetings with the operations team to explain job scope, potential areas of attention, and other aspects to ensure a successful transition of the project.
  • Change Order Management: Price change orders in coordination with the operations department.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience estimating projects in the structured cabling commercial integration industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience and knowledge of the cabling/low voltage industry.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office/Teams (Outlook, Word, Excel) and various estimating software.
  • Communication Skills: Highly organized and self-managed with the ability to maintain a consistent workflow through the estimating department.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport with teammates and clients.
  • Written and Verbal Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Criminal Background Check: Must pass a background check.
