Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join our Privacy and Information Security Unit within our Corporate Law Department. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal advice on enterprise programs related to privacy, information security, risk, and compliance.

Located in Bloomington, IL, this position is a hybrid role, requiring a combination of in-office and virtual work. You will collaborate closely with our team of lawyers, peers in other legal practice groups, and business leaders throughout the enterprise.

Responsibilities

As a Privacy and Information Security Counsel, you will:

  • Advise on federal and state privacy and information security requirements, enterprise risk management, and the compliance and ethics program.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement effective privacy and information security strategies.
  • Provide legal guidance on information retention, crisis management, AML/OFAC, and business continuity.
  • Work closely with business leaders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A juris doctorate (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
  • An active license to practice law in at least one state and be a member in good standing of the bar.
  • 5+ years of experience with privacy and/or information security laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with risk and/or compliance programs.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, learning agility, and the ability to excel in a collaborative environment.
  • Success anticipating legal issues and enabling clients' needs through the practice of practical, preventative law.
