POSITION SUMMARY
The role involves overseeing the accurate dispensing of medications to patients based on valid prescriptions, ensuring utmost precision and providing patient education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to all relevant federal and state regulations, pharmacy standards, and corporate policies.
Responsible for the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, maintaining necessary documentation, ensuring accurate third-party billing, and managing inventory.
Provides counseling to patients and healthcare professionals on medication usage, dosages, potential interactions, and side effects, while monitoring patient health to ensure adherence and optimize treatment plans.
Engages in patient-centered initiatives including immunization services, MTM, and wellness programs.Supervises pharmacy staff in daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
Offers guidance and training to pharmacy interns, technicians, and associates, monitoring their performance. Utilizes professional judgment to deliver exemplary service within the pharmacist's scope of practice. Participates in business development efforts within the store and community. Engages in continuous quality improvement initiatives to promote patient safety. Maintains a clean and organized workspace at all times. Ensures department facilities meet legal and corporate standards. Completes required continuing education as mandated by state law. Performs additional duties as assigned by management.QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a valid and active Pharmacist license in good standing within the state of practice. Certification in immunization or a commitment to obtain it is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effective communication skills: verbal, written, and electronic. Strong decision-making and leadership abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proficient analytical skills. Capable of managing staff and resolving customer issues creatively to enhance satisfaction. Ability to assign, prioritize, and assess the work of others. Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with dress code. Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing technologies. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Must possess a valid Driver's License and be at least 21 years old. Willingness to undergo DL Monitoring. Some overnight travel may be required. Demonstrates excellent communication and follow-through to achieve desired outcomes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a 5-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy is required.
