Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses and repairs vehicles and equipment for WM, a leading waste management company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services, adhering to Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Inspects, diagnoses and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software.
  • Assists senior Mechanics in the completion of project work and reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Work Environment

Works in a repair/maintenance shop environment, exposed to physical occupational risks and physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
