Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Estimator to become a vital part of our Estimating Department. In this role, you will be tasked with generating estimates using Xactimate for substantial commercial losses and reconstruction projects.

This position requires onsite presence within our estimating department, with occasional travel to various job sites for field assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely delivery of estimates in accordance with the team's service level agreements (SLAs). This encompasses but is not limited to:
    • Reviewing documentation provided by clients.
    • Conducting necessary site inspections.
    • Engaging with restoration contractors or subcontractors as required.
    • Providing comprehensive, line-item scopes and estimates for project components.
    • Identifying and flagging areas needing further clarification or investigation to management.
    • Documenting all relevant dimensions, diagrams, and images of each area.
    • Cataloging all tasks required for each section.
    • Noting any exclusions related to the scope of work.
    • Securing estimate approvals from management and, when necessary, from executive leadership.
  • Collaborating with Claims Managers to clarify project scopes with clients when necessary, including resolving disputes and outlining completed or pending work.
  • Reviewing project specifications, including but not limited to:
    • National Account bulletins.
    • Uploading estimates to SERVPRO corporate and/or insurance carriers.
    • Understanding insurance company requirements.
    • Identifying applicable permitting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in estimating with Xactimate, particularly for large and complex commercial projects.
  • A strong focus on processes and results.
  • Experience in the cleaning, restoration, insurance, or large loss adjusting sectors is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a public adjuster is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate (5 years of experience required).
  • Level 3 certification is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to assist the team with any task, regardless of size.
  • Ability to work onsite five days a week and travel to job sites as necessary.
  • Comfortable managing upward, navigating ambiguity, and adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Authorized to work legally in the United States and able to pass a background check in accordance with applicable laws.

Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 annually
