Cytogenetics Specialist

At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Cytogenetics Specialist to join our team. This role will involve performing cancer genomic laboratory procedures, analyzing genetic data, and creating accurate clinical reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform benchwork, analysis, and reporting of genetic or genomic assays with high accuracy and efficiency
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols
• Collaborate with senior technicians and leadership to ensure the highest quality of work
• Provide guidance and support to junior staff members
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cancer genomics and related diagnostic testing

Requirements:

• BA/BS in a related scientific field
• At least three years' experience in a Cytogenetics/genomics lab or completion of a formal certified training program
• Certification as CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM or international equivalent
• Strong knowledge of cancer genomics and related diagnostic testing
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
