Job Summary

Axia Women's Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at our OB/GYN practice in Somerset, NJ. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care, recording critical patient information, and providing information to patients.
  • Prepare exam/procedure rooms, clean rooms, set up instruments and equipment, and maintain and clean sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program.
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure room, assist as needed with walking transfers or dressing.
  • Maintain patient records by accurately recording patient medical history, obtaining, and recording patient vital signs, symptoms, complaints, and medications, etc.
  • Perform venipuncture and collecting specimens as needed.
  • Assist provider with various procedures and screenings.
  • Relay instructions and pertinent information to patients.
  • Complete forms/requisitions as needed to ensure patient records are accurate and that claims can be properly billed.
  • Adhere to Patient Confidentiality Policies and HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program.
  • Current national certification as a Medical Assistant, such as CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NCMA required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent medical assistant experience in a medical facility/office or combination of experience and documented evidence of medical assistant internship.
  • OB/GYN or Women's Health experience preferred.
  • eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience beneficial.
