Nautical Ventures is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Mercury Mechanic to join our growing team. As a key member of our service department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and satisfaction of our valued customers.

In this position, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing outboard engines from various manufacturers, adhering to strict manufacturer specifications. Your expertise will encompass routine maintenance, complex repairs, warranty work, and general boating system troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of outboard engine issues, including transmissions.
  • Conduct comprehensive maintenance and inspections on engines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, utilizing your knowledge of diagnostic equipment.
  • Mount and rig outboard engines from leading brands, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, including voltage regulators and other components.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all repairs performed.
  • Manage inventory levels of essential parts and supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Keep your tools and work area organized and in safe working condition.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and courteously.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements and best practices through ongoing training and research.
  • Estimate labor and time requirements for repairs, providing transparent pricing to customers.
  • Inspect vessels thoroughly to identify necessary adjustments and ensure proper seaworthiness.

Requirements:

  • Completion of the Mercury Marine Engine Certification program.
  • Proven experience as a marine technician specializing in outboard engines.
  • In-depth understanding of diagnostic equipment and repair procedures.
  • Familiarity with factory warranty processes and guidelines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
