Perioperative Nurse Specialist

**Estimated Salary:** $85,000 - $115,000 per year
About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity to join Penn Medicine's perioperative team as a Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague. In this role, you will work closely with the interprofessional healthcare team to provide individualized care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your expertise and dedication will help ensure seamless transitions between preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care.
You will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art operating room setting, collaborating with experienced nurses, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and effectiveness, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care throughout their perioperative journey.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide individualized patient care through the application of the nursing process, accepting accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients.
+ Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate coordination of care across the continuum, ensuring seamless transitions between preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care.
+ Participate in ongoing education and professional development to expand knowledge and skills necessary to provide evidence-based care.
+ Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to identify potential and actual problems and opportunities to provide safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable care.
Required Qualifications:
+ Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Pennsylvania.
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent experience.
+ At least one year of experience as an RN, preferably in a perioperative setting.
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association.
