Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiothoracic Surgery team in the CVCT ICU at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to critical care and intermediate care patients with a focus on technological expertise and patient and family needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to deliver specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures, heart and/or lung transplants, medical devices, and various cardiovascular medical diagnoses.
  • Participate in acuity-based staffing ratios to ensure optimal safety and contribute to a strong shared governance structure that empowers every nurse to have a voice.
Requirements
  • Minimum six (6) months of nursing experience or current participation in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and relevant RN experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact, current CPR/BLS Certification, and ACLS obtained six (6) months within hire.
