The role involves crafting premium aircraft cabinetry utilizing a diverse range of veneers, laminates, and composite materials, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards while working efficiently. This position also encompasses the training and mentorship of junior cabinet builders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train junior cabinet builders.
  • Interpret engineering schematics and assess customer specifications.
  • Assemble components such as hinge blocks into panels, and install doors and drawers.
  • Construct hardwood bullnose and Corian countertops.
  • Prepare kerf and fiberglass panels, applying adhesives and epoxies as required.
  • Fabricate drawers and cabinets for large structures.
  • Apply veneer to products with precision.
  • Design and route layouts for switches, cup holders, and inlays, ensuring accurate installation.
  • Utilize table saws for material cutting and layout.
  • Operate CNC machines and pin routers effectively.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including those for hazardous materials.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in using hand and power tools relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Knowledgeable in the characteristics and applications of adhesives and epoxies.
  • Skilled in labeling parts for reassembly and creating shop aids.
  • Capable of fabricating small sheet metal components (angles, clips, brackets, etc.).
  • Adept at producing items necessary for final assembly adjustments (shims, blocks, etc.).
  • Comfortable working from heights using step stools and ladders, with the ability to read measuring instruments.
  • Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must successfully pass drug tests and background checks.
