Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Fire Safety Systems Specialist to join our team. This role involves the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems across various projects, including commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of fire alarm and suppression systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Interpret project documentation and work orders to assess the scope of work and identify any additional information required.
- Communicate effectively with project coordinators regarding any issues or concerns related to assigned tasks.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the integration of fire alarm systems with HVAC controls, smoke management systems, and other safety systems.
- Maintain knowledge of fire alarm protection principles and the operational aspects of suppression systems.
- Arrive at job sites equipped with necessary testing tools and equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operation manuals as per training received.
- Complete required documentation for customer service activities and ensure timely submission for record-keeping purposes.
- Safeguard confidential information related to services performed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED; a technical degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- NICET II certification is encouraged but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in low voltage system installation, including fire/life safety systems.
- Proficient in using test equipment such as multi-meters and digital analyzers.
- Understanding of electrical principles, including Ohm's law and circuit theory.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle stressful situations effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Experience in commercial construction environments and the ability to work independently.
- Must provide personal hand tools necessary for the role.
