Job Responsibilities

As an Operating Room Nurse, you will be responsible for planning, executing, directing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical patient. Your nursing activities may include:

  • Preoperative evaluation and preparation of patients for surgery
  • Intra-operative care and management of patients during surgical procedures
  • Postoperative evaluation and care of patients after surgery

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BLS certification
  • Color vision
  • Exam Core Mandatory Part I, Part II, and Part III certifications
  • Operating Room RN experience
  • Ability to prevent medication errors and demonstrate strong pharmacology knowledge
  • State license to practice nursing
