Job Title:

Medical Liaison

Job Summary:

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a Medical Liaison to connect uninsured hospital patients with programs that cover their medical expenses. The successful candidate will work as a liaison between the patient, the hospital, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance.
  • Complete applications and follow through until approved
  • Document cases in Company programs and hospital systems
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Participate in ongoing trainings to apply content learned in dealings with patients and cases
  • Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork for prospective Medicaid patients
  • Maintain structured contact with applicants and government agencies
  • Request home visits as needed to acquire documentation
  • Inform clients of approvals and denials of coverage
  • Participate in additional training requirements to stay abreast of changing rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities.
  • Some college coursework preferred
  • Prior hospital or medical office experience is an advantage
  • Adaptability when dealing with changing processes, computer systems, and government programs
  • Professional experience working with state and federal programs
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital and patients' rooms
  • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook
  • Effectively communicate both orally and written, to a variety of individuals
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
  • Remote and Hybrid positions require a home internet connection that meets the company's upload and download speed criteria
