LECOM is seeking a highly qualified Physician Educator to join our team. As a member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring medical students in the Osteopathic Principles and Practices course. Your expertise in medicine will be invaluable in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and mentor medical students in the Osteopathic Principles and Practices course
- Advise medical students on their academic and professional development
- Interview applicants for the College of Medicine
- Contribute to the mission of LECOM through research and service
- Participate in the History & Physical Examination course and facilitate problem-based learning
- Serve as an instructor in various Clinical Examination courses
- Serve as a Problem Based Learning Facilitator
- Serve as instructor in the OPP course
- Assist in Simulation Lab supervision
- Interview prospective candidates for the College of Medicine
- Serve on Committees, as assigned and as Advisor to assigned students and at least one club
- Provide scholarly activity or research projects
- Prepare educational tools and clinical exercises
- Prepare demonstrations, lectures, and small group discussions
- Prepare evaluation tools
- Attend Team meetings approved by COM
- Take direction and receive assignments from the Vice President of LECOM at Seton Hill
- Prepare course syllabus in detail
- Be available for work during assigned hours
- Accept other duties assigned/needed for the Institution's needs
- Knowledge of general medical coding and related information in the field
- Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols
- Knowledge of student and patient's privacy
- Follow proper OSHA and safety guidelines
- Strong communications skills and computer literacy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Training and certification on the Institutional Data System
- Great skills in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Maintaining an established work schedule
- Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills
- Effectively using organizational and planning skills
- Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands
- Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Flexibility to accept other duties needed/assigned for the clinic needs
- Ability to work cooperatively and collegially with others
- Ability to report to work as scheduled
- Ability to accept work directives from managers and supervisors
Education and experience equivalent to: or required; teaching experience in academia with two to five (2-5) years' or more of experience practicing preferred. Must have a PA medical license or ability to get a PA license.
